"The Banjo Fan"
8x8 in (20x20cm)
Acrylics on Canvas

Every musician has his fan(s). I found this out after years of going to sessions, concerts and Fleadhs (traditional music festivals). I sat beside some horrendous players and yet somehow, there was always someone in the audience who simply LOVED their playing, regardless. As an artist I find it both reassuring and disturbing...

Had to be done ! It's been in my head for a while now :)
"Surfary Session"
This is a painitng that was requested by Mattu Noone from "The Bahh Band" for their coming tour of Ireland.

There was a very tight deadline for this and it came when I was already very busy so I had to use acrylics instead of my standard oil paintings to allow for shorter drying times. Think the result came close to what I'd normally get with oils.

20x30 inches.
Acrylics on canvas board
I remember a while back sitting at a session in a pub and realized we were all flute players. I would normally expect a session to be somehow balanced:
a fiddle or two, same amount of flutes, a box, couple of guitars/bouzouki and the local bodhran legend. But nah!! Pure flutes.
Turned out to be fun and fairly unassuming at the end at the end. It's all good!

20x16 - Oil on Canvas - €380 ($520 aprox)

Another full series: The musicians. Available as a Poster
It's been all surf related stuff this past month, but I still do a lot of these, commissions mostly although I'm re-building a small stock for galleries.
I'm getting a lot done this month. Just as well because i'll be signing of for 3 odd weeks in August, between holidays and visitors I won't have much time to dedicate to painting.

Here's a new one I finished last night fro Johan and Una.

I also made a new video of the whole painting process.
These work out well for people so I think I'll be making more of them.

I have a growing selection of prints available with Photo4me.
Just finished this today.
It should be going to a gallery in the next couple of weeks .
