Johan's Duet
I'm getting a lot done this month. Just as well because i'll be signing of for 3 odd weeks in August, between holidays and visitors I won't have much time to dedicate to painting.
Here's a new one I finished last night fro Johan and Una.
I also made a new video of the whole painting process.
These work out well for people so I think I'll be making more of them.

Pure Glass
Sometimes it's good to try something different.
I'm always interested in the "wet canvas" technique and this is my take on it.
I filmed the whole painting which took one session of just over 2hrs.
Available as a print

A Wave for Ronan
Small painting I finshed last weekend.
Done & Gone. This is going with me to the Lorient Interceltic festival and will be handed over to artist Ronan Guivach. Check out his work

More Black and White
More Black and white.
They kinda look cool.
I think they'd look great as a logo or as a single little drawing on a board.

At the cliffs.
I've had this one finished for a couple of weeks now but I simply forgot to post it here. It's now on it's way to get framed.
It took me a while to know where I wanted to go with it though.Funny how some paintings simply come out straight away and other take you through a long process and a lot of re working and thinking.
All in all, I'm happy with it, especially considering that there's technically two paintings in there :)
Time lapse from a quick 1 hour style study.
Original painting by Ashton Howard - Check out his paintings online at http://www.ashtonhoward.com/
I've always been a fan of his work and can see my own stuff drifting in a similar direction these days.

What to do with an old board
I've been meaning to do something like that for ages and I finally got some time this weekend.
This was my first surfboard ever, I didn't know what to go for at the time and this old battered semi-gun was the cheapest thing in the shop. Naturally i thought, "hey a surfboard's a surfboard right ?"
Anyhow, I took out the box acrylics got cracking at it. I haven't used acrylics in a while, so the first hour was a bit sketchy, no pun intended, to say the least.
I finished the edges and couple of details with some posca markers.
I'm glad with the way it came out at the end, I'll definitely be doing more of that.
